American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and New York follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Ordered canelΓ©, pain aux raisin and chocolate croissant. The canelΓ© were amazing, one of the best I ever had. Skip the pain aux raisin, it was dry, very little cream filling which had a curdled texture. The chocolate croissant was very good, the outer layers were too crispy but the rest of dough was lovely, with an almost eggy flavor. I wanted to get a financier, but it was listed as out of stock online even though they had at least 10 in store (I asked the staff to update what's in stock online but they were bewildered by the request).

The shop is really cute and hidden inside a building. It feels like a secret place. The drinks are okay, but nothing special. For the bakery items, they are average. They serve them at room temperature, so they are a bit hard. I think it would be much better if they warm them up before serving. Overall, it’s a nice spot, but the bakery could be improved.

Tried a few things at Frenchette Bakery. I got the duck rillette and the oyster mushroom sandwiches and really liked bothβ€”super flavorful and well balanced. I also tried the pain au chocolat and the hazelnut croissant. The chocolate filling in the pain au chocolat was extremely minimal, so I personally wouldn’t recommend that one. The hazelnut croissant, on the other hand, was the complete oppositeβ€”rich filling, amazing texture, and noticeably flakier than the chocolate one.

Frenchette Bakery is a super cool spot located in a very non-obvious building, making it feel like a true find. It has a really unique vibe - while there are no conventional seats, the layout is designed so you can still sit and enjoy the atmosphere. The absolute standout here is the hot chocolate. It is amazing and probably the most interesting one I have had in a long time! We also tried the drip coffee, but the hot chocolate was definitely superior. I seriously recommend it to everyone who visits. A helpful tip: this place is clearly very popular, as there was a steady stream of people coming in for takeaways throughout our visit. Because the seating isn't traditional, it’s a great spot for a quick, high-quality treat or a grab-and-go experience. Overall, if you're looking for a cool aesthetic and top-tier hot chocolate, this is a must-visit.

Easily the best croissant I’ve ever had in my life. I’m a former baker and I’ve made and eaten a lot of croissants, so that may not be advice for the perfect croissant, but it’s pretty close in my opinion. Definitely go there and grab a few things you’re not familiar with and a coffee.
